Beginning at age 7, Beau Browning was already fishing Arkansas high school bass tournaments and winning. Browning tells the story of how he scarcely weighed enough to power the footpedal on the trolling motor. Often, he’d stand on the pedal with both feet or stomp on it to get the motor moving. But his fishing skills were undeniable from day-one.

An exceptional youth golfer, Beau was encouraged to pursue a college golf scholarship because at the time, fishing scholarships didn’t exist. (He later earned a bass fishing scholarship, while representing University of Montevallo.)

Young Beau accompanied his father to tournaments and shows like ICAST for many years, where he became a familiar face and friend to the Z-Man staff. Today, his positive energy and laidback, approachable personality continue to make him a fan favorite.

In just his first full year on the Bassmaster Opens Elite Qualifiers (EQs), Browning qualified for the prestigious Elite Series. Helping secure his spot, Browning earned four top 20 Opens finishes, including 13th at Leech Lake, Minnesota and 9h at Okeechobee—both with Z-Man baits. In 2025 Browning plans to fish both the Elite Series and select Bassmaster Opens, where he’ll compete against his legendary father and fellow Z-Man pro, Stephen Browning.
