Crossing EyeZ on Tidal Docks in the Spring

I live and fish mainly in South Jersey, where I almost always will reach for one of David Walker's Z-Man CrossEyeZ Power Finesse Jigs. And usually, I'm reaching for the 1/4oz size. The fish in my area are heavily pressured, and downsizing to the CrossEyeZ Power Finesse Jig helps me get a lot more bites.

While the CrossEyeZ Power Finesse Jig can definitely help you pick up a few extra bites, you aren't sacrificing quantity for quality. Big fish eat them just as good, and with a copper hand tied skirt and a stout 2/0 Mustand UltraPoint flipping hook, the CrossEyeZ Power Finesse Jig can hold up to any abuse those big girls dish out.

While South Jersey is CrossEyeZ Power Finesse Jig country, when I take the hour-long ride South to the Northeast River in Maryland, I reach for David Walker's Z-Man CrossEyeZ Flipping Jig. The fish down there are not near as shy as they are in South Jersey, so I can reach for that bigger profile jig without sacrificing bite quantity.

And once again, the quality components including the heavy duty 4/0 VMC flipping hook, and the copper hand-tied 100% silicone skirt can take all the punishment big fish dole out. The Z-Man CrossEyeZ Flipping Jig is about the only jig I trust when I head down to the Northeast River because I need a jig that can hold up – big fish are everywhere and they absolutely love to eat the CrossEyeZ Flipping Jig.

If the conditions call for it, I will downsize to the CrossEyeZ Power Finesse Jig. However, I'm mainly throwing the CrossEyeZ Flipping Jig – a lot of the time the current is going pretty good, and the heavier weighted Flipping Jig allows you to get your bait down around the dock pilings where those big fish pull up on their way to their spawning coves and flats.

Next time you're on a tidal river system in the pre-spawn, go find you some dock pilings and try throwing the Z-Man CrossEyeZ Flipping Jig – it will flat out get bit.
